The ANZASR is a not-for-profit organization (charitable trust) setup with the aims of:

Maintaining remote surf break break monitoring systems and associated data bases

To undertake reviews and updates of the Management Guidelines for Surfing Resources.

Educate the current and next generation on sustainable management, surfing resource management and surf science.

Establish surf break research goals that will benefit Aotearoa New Zealand, by:

Providing a centralized, supportive body to aid in research funding applications

Fund and guide student research projects.

Promote the sharing of surf break research data and learnings to an international audience to aid global efforts to manage surfing resources.

Engage with and educate local authorities about surfing resource management.

ANZASR supports Australasian Coast and Ports Conference
The ANZASR is sponsoring the Surf Science, Engineering & Management technical stream for the Australasian Coast and Ports Conference 2022.
In addition to the technical stream, the ANZASR is facilitating a workshop at the end of Day 1 of the conference (1400-1500 AWST, 1600-1700 AEST, 1800-1900 NZT). More information about the workshop can be found here.
